Change The World!

I want to change the world. Your world. The world of Hemophilia. My world. I want to have a positive impact on people I meet or who stumble across this blog. That is it. To inspire you to become better, live better or think better.

So, today I am sharing my list with you. I hope you all have a list. This is my when I win the lottery and give half of it to charity – who will benefit list. Even if I haven’t won the lottery, or played in who knows how long, I still give back. This blog is also functioning as a way to fuel my desire to help worthy causes.

Charity and Non-Profit Contribution Goals:

Patient Services Inc., PSI This non profit actually assists people in paying for the incredibly high insurance premiums that someone with a chronic illness. This program is literally a life saver. My goal is to raise or personally donate $100,000/year to this organization.  DONATE HERE

Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles When my son was diagnosed with sever Hemophilia Type A, I was in shock. The team at CHLA was incredible. They helped me through the different stages of grief, denial, blame of myself, shock, anger, depression and finally acceptance. Kathy, our son’s nurse is someone I truly love with all my heart.  Stana, an experienced nurse is a rock star as she was the only one who could find a vein on a tiny infant to administer his medication. Dr.  Hofstra and Dr. Young are my rocks and are always calm and tell it to me straight. Thank You Everyone, I will always be in your debt. My goal is to raise or personally donate $250,000/year to this organization. DONATE HERE

Hemophilia Federation of America, HFAAprovides assistance to individuals and families in the bleeding disorders community. My goal is to raise or personally donate $100,000/year to this organization. DONATE HERE

Nevada Diabetes Association One of my very favorite people in the whole world has diabetes and this foundation changed her life. My goal is to raise or personally donate $50,000/year to this organization. DONATE HERE

Music and Memory – If you haven’t seen the documentary Alive Inside, please do so – it is on Netflix right now.  The story is of one man who uses music to unlock memories and minds of Alzheimer patients. You have to watch Henry. His reaction is beyond words and is just the beginning of addressing the needs of our growing aging population. This will affect us all. I have grandparents and parents whom I love more then they will ever know and I think that how our current society treats the elderly is a crime. While the film focuses on the incredible effects of music, the larger issue of humane care and respect of our elders hits home.  DONATE HERE

Tubie Friends – A FANTASTIC organization that provides BUILD A BEAR animals for your kids who have feeding tubes, pic lines or ports. This really helps kids understand and deal with their journey. I currently donate a couple bucks every month and that will grow as this blog does. DONATE HERE

Anything that helps protect children. Anything. I can not wrap my head around the horrible stories about abuse and torture of children and infants. I do not understand what compels a person to have a child if they in anyway cause these innocents harm. It is a nightmare and I am sure I don’t know how bad it is.

Anything that has to do with Animals – obviously. The cruelty that exists in this world is disgusting. People who abuse their animals should be treated and persecuted as criminals. If I could save every dog in the world and let them live on my 500 acre sanctuary I would, but alas, my space is at max capacity already. Here are 55 Ways To Help Animals

Please share YOUR list with me in the comments below.
